Replacement fuel tank

Post by Matt Braddish »

After a bit of advice as I need to replace my fuel tank. The crud and rust on the inside keeps blocking up the main filter and causing it to lose power. I have taken it off and compared it to the ones in the on-line parts catalogue and the one on mine is the same as part no NRC8727 ie for a 6 cyl 2.6, with the sender unit held down by 6 screws and a return pipe.
however, the parts catalogue for a stage 1 v8 (599234) is different, with no return and the sender unti held down by a locking ring.
Have I got the wrong tank on mine or is the parts book not always spot on?

Any ideas from those who may have changed one before would be of great benefit.

The parts book is correct but in both instances you appear to have the wrong description.

The correct part is 599234. This has a return line plus twist lock sender.
