What is the best use of chains?
I have purchased a pair of chains,
The buyer never tried driving on snow, he lives in a different town.
I did try them on snow and try to climb an asfelt road covered with snow, I did it with difficulty. (rear tiers)
The crowd was stuned .
The second day I had problem while putting the chains again so I putted them (crossing) front left and rear right.
I think it was a big mistake due to the diff effect , and I failed.
So I purchased a second pair , and hope to still have snow till the next week end.
Should I decrease the Tiers pressure while putting chains?
Can I use the chains on mud?
How fast and long can I use the chains on asfelt road?
Any suggestions for better climbing on snow?

Always use the snow chains on both the front and rear axle at the same time. You probably shouldn't exceed 50 km/h. I can see that your snow chains are only across the tires - if you use ones which also goes along the middle og the tire your steering is improved a lot I use Michelin snow chains during winter time - a lot of fun. If you try them in mud it makes your truck nearly unstopable

Dear Mike, let me get that right, I CAN use the chains on mud?
I have never seen a photo of mud advanture with 4x4 tiers covered with chains.
However disco previously sayed that " I came away with a set of four snow/mud chains (need derusting)"
Unfotunatley we had a few hot days so no more snow in the normal places, and the half of nation was their on the week end with their small cars, so I could not be free to climb and search for a clean surface covered with snow.
Yet, I manajed to rescu a van (about 1200 to 1400 KG I suppose) and saved the day for him.

Secondly, it looks in the video as though you didn't your centre diff lock engaged, but either way you need four chains not two. Having two is potentially dangerous.

after readin the link I realaised that I am still need some hard answers:
1- Yes, chains will help on mud.
2- if you are using 4x4 car then 4 chains are better than 2.
3- if you only have 2 chains, then used them on front tyers as it will help steering and clear the road for the reare tyers ??? The link said the opposite.
4- The chains will not bee a good help on ice?
5- Some suggested to put the 2 chains "diagonally opposed", but personaly I think that will cause a bad diff. effect , I don`t know about your experienc but think it was a mistake from me to put them "diagonally opposed" but I had too as I could not put them both on rear becaus the chain was cuted.
6- I fixed the chain by adding 3 rigns , (the seller cuted them as they were long)

Yes, you are right.
