Value of a Stage1?

Post by Lurcherlad »

Found this forum recently-which is good because I'v got a Stage1 that I want to sell...entirely due to having a shoulder op that means that driving it is a no no!
I'm not sure what to put it up for sale at-esp. in the current climate...-It was a hardtop but now has window's and its been painted Bronze green by the previous owner.
Mechanically its got a rebuilt engine(I'v done very little mileage in it)and an LPG conversion all professionally done ,rebuilt gearbox and the Hi-ratio transfer box conversion which is superb, cruising is a much more refined affair now!
I also renewed all the steering gear and cooling system and it has a galvanised chassis too-so any idea's on what is a realistic price to ask will be much appreciated-this is a lovely vehicle and it flew through it's mot a couple of week's ago. Thank's-Andy

Some pics might help, and is it on ebay or something so you can post a link with details.

Cheers

There's one on Ebay at the moment with a galv chassis and bulkhead. Buy It Now price is £3K. Will be interesting to see what it makes:

I reckon that's a bargain. With all the stuff on it, you could break it for spares and still get your money back. I'd prefer it with less chequerplate, but that is fixable.

Now probably isn't the best time to be selling an uncomfortable, impractical vehicle that does 15 mpg. Your best hope might be to list it on Ebay USA, and include shipping cost in the price. Since the pound collapsed against the dollar, our vehicles should be starting to look very cheap to US buyers.

Yes that does look good, but I agree on the bling

Pity about the weber though, but that can be changed. I have to say I am comfortable with the Strombergs on mine, especialy when we get a bit tilty ;)

Thanks for your quick replies!-And apologies for my almost total ignorance re computer literacy-will have to get some help to post some pic's up-but will try and do that today!
I have photo's of the vehicle before it changed from Java green to Bronze green as well as photo's of the chassis rebuild.
I may well put it up on ebay for £3000 then-its just got to go! Someone will get a very nice old Landie for a good price...Tax and MOT included!
Of course I would rather sell it to a real enthusiast as I am one myself-and all reasonable offer's will be cheerfully cosidered!-Get in touch if you're interested!

It's mine :D

To be fair, the proposer offered '3000'. It's difficult to be sure whether that was GBP or Euros, as he was Italian.

I never did get back to the person inquiring as I saw the post quite a while after it was made, and I've been really busy with work recently. I will do though, out of courtesy, and also because I have a strong passion for Italian cars, which he may share 8)

I'm doubtful I would have sold it - I really like my Stage 1 CSW :D
