I have just re-built a Range Rover V8 engine to run in a kit car.The engine started and run great, after a few minutes a pool of oil appeared under the rear of the engine. After a little bit of thought and a cup of coffee I came too the conclusion the engine has to come out,so last night it was taken out and is now on the garage floor.I suspect the rear Crankshaft seal has failed.because the oil is runnnning from the Bell Housing.AFter I have finished this cupper I am giong to put my overall on and sepperate the Gearbox from the engine then remove the clutch them is should give me some idea what the oil leak problem is,
I will keep you posted on events. If anybody has any ideas I would be greatfull for any input.

Camhaft seal rear V8
Good news the rear seal just wasn't there.when we rebuilt the engine I forgot too replace it,£1.30p fix and about 10 hours work. the engine is back in and running and no leaks?
