Well - started up this morning on LPG after a coldish night. No problem starting, but the truck ran a bit lumpily as it does when starting cold on LPG. Half a mile down the road, after a couple of minor backfires (normal in these circumstances) there was a helluva bang. If I had been somewhere hot & horrid doing the day job, I would have thought 'IED' and have been out fast a putting rounds downrange !
The truck sounded like a tank and it was pretty obvious that the larger than normal backfire had blown out the front silencer. As Murphy's Law would have it, I'm booked for the MOT tomorrow ! No choice but to go to Kwik b***y Fit.
£86 poorer for a piece of tin that I know won't last long - thankfully, the rest of the exhaust was OK !
Moral - always start on petrol.
