Timing Chain cover needed badly please!!!

Post by stirlsilver »

Hi guys... I've been plagued with a water leak that simply will not go away on the back of the pump housing due to the aluminium being eaten away from the cavitation from the impeller... I've opened the damn thing up twice now and tried to patch the hole but it keeps reopening!!

Does anyone have an old unusued V8 sitting in the shed and that would be willing to part with the timing chain cover which has a reasonable face?... in Australia?

Thanks guys.

If no one has a spare try ebay. I have seen loads of timing covers on there. I have one buts its the old P6/101 type with the smaller oil pump gears so not the best option.

I assume its from a V8. It was in a box of V8 bits in the back of a c plate Vogue i bought.I have never stripped one down. I just take one out and put another in.I was hopin that it was the bit the Aussie was lookin 4.

Hi Tel, that is certainly the right part. Is is possible to see what the face behind the pump looks like? Cause that is where mine has been eaten away... Any idea what year model the cover is?

If it's off a C plate Rangie it should be an 85/86 I think.

I'll take it abroad and ave a look. The engine may not be out of the C plate. The pile of bits in the back may be earlier.

Well, so long as it has the larger gears i'm certainly interested. How much do you want for it? I don't need the pump, I have a new one here. Is it possible to have an estimate on how much it will cost to have one sent over?
