Thanks for all the replies.

David,

The pictures show what I expected to see. I have neither the lid or the catch and there is no sign of a catch ever being there. The top of the seat box is worn though so it looks like something has been covering the battery at some point and accessed a fair bit.

Tel,

All crimbo pressies are greatly received  but there are no holes/fittings where that type of lid could attach so I dont know if it would fit?

Cheers

Did this ever get resolved?

I have the same problem, no lid, but evidence of something having been there, and no over-centre catch or holes for it.

There are no fixing holes to screw it down like the centre panel, so how is it secured?

I'll do a pic

The photo on DB’s post is correct for the Stage1

The retainer clip and the two rivets are available from LRSeries

I can’t help you with the lid but the part number is MRC6969 and yes it is unique to the Stage1. Maybe someone has got a second hand one lying around but if all else fails one could be easily fabricated from a pattern.

Good luck…

The latch on the LR link is 110. Though possibly the last Stage Ones as well. Probably easily assessed by whether your car has pop rivet holes or not.

Otherwise it's a tongue at the rear and a cheap and nasty knob and rotating tongue at the front. Therefore no holes in the seat panel in order to retain the battery box's lid.

That sounds reasonable, anyone got pictures of this elusive lid?

This is what I have (or don't have, depending upon your view):

The 3 rivets are for the internal upright inside the seatbox.

that is the latch I have.

Phone just died so pix need to wait.

Lid pix to follow!

The lid is also held on just under the seat with an ali strip.

Thanks for that Mark. Any chance of a picture of the underside to see what the locking mechanism is like.

Just in case I stumble across one this summer.

Paul.

... and as I suggested, 110. So to, the presence of pop rivet holes will be the indicator.
