Has anyone thought about fitting a programmable ignition system?
I have looked at various electronic ignition systems that basically just replace the points in an already well worn dizzy. These can easily cost over £100 and a new dizzy is just silly money so after doing a bit of research I have found that I can fit a programmable system for around £150.
Thinking about this one

Looks easy enough and has the added benefit of being a lot more water resistant than the standard ignition system.

Programmable ignition
fortunately there there are several people who have already done it so have existing maps that I can use as a starting point. There is also lots of info available on the rover ignition system so it shouldnt be to difficult to get it near to optimum.
plus it gives me some thing else to experiment with.
