Power steering box

Has anyone overhauled a power steering box?
Mine is on its way out and i have a choice of buying a new box (£100) or getting a service kit for £16.

Any views/ advice

My wifes disco recently sprung a leak. I spoke to the independant dealer about a service kit and he stated that the bottom seal wears a ridge in the steering shaft. When you fit a new seal then it's 50 50 as to whether it will last long. I opted for a new box instead
