Bonnet Support Frame

Post by Cliff4WD »

It would be a great help if any of you could help out with the length of the cutout section (circled in yellow on photo). I'm about to patch the frame I'm restoring and that area has rotted away on mine. Cheers, most appreciated. :D

I don't quite see how you want this measured. I have a spare bonnet which is accessible.

It's OK, I have a measurement now. It's obviously not really critical anyway, I just didn't have a clear idea of that end profile or more importantly, why it was shaped the way it is. All I wanted to confirm was the length of the cutout section (from bonnet side to the opposite 90 deg end). I can see from that photo I found the original profile, so it's just a case of me being a bit pedantic so that my repairs don't look obvious. Thanks for your response.
