Hi,
Fire Service photo, I wonder if the vehicle still exists? Nothing on DVLA basic searches.
Kind regards,
George

Re: Fire Service photo
Can you provide a link to where the image can be viewed larger? I can't read the registration number clearly.
Re: Fire Service photo
Tax expired in 2006, so not hopeful, but could be sitting in a shed somewhere. Where did you find the photo?
Re: Fire Service photo
Online purchase. Seller emailed me as follows 'Hi George, sorry I dont know, I got the photo in the 80s when I was in the RAF Fire Service, I wrote to 100s of fire appliance companies-airports and fire services to ask for photos and this was one of the ones I had sent to me, I think it was from an appliance company but not sure.' Kind regards, George

Thanks. Great looking truck. Thanks for posting. Do you know which company built it? A search on the net produced this:

DVLA show this as a Sandringham and on a SORN

Just found this - looks just like yours:

There is a picture of the same vehicle from the rear on page 98 of James Taylor's Land Rover Series 3 Specification Guide showing the decals 'BRITISH INTERNATIONAL HELICOPTERS' in white on the rear offside upper panel. Built by VF Specialist Vehicles - James Taylor refers to their 'distinctive short rear overhang'. DVLA shows this one last taxed in 2001.
