Can anybody tell me what the pipe is with the arrow pointing at it please

In the pictured LHD engine bay, you are pointing to the Kopex tube connecting the exhaust manifold hot box to the air cleaner intake. The air cleaner should have a flap valve controlled be a bimetallic or vacuum switch.
