Just wanted to thank everyone for their invaluable advices on this forum - I have just recently become the proud owner of a 1981 Series 3 Stage 1 - absolutely original - only 1 very small dent, no rust whatsoever and has just clicked over a very original 50,000 kms - I had no intention of getting a Land Rover but this became available when the elderley owner died - had not been driven for the last 8 years, and before that on 1 fishing trip a year and weekly shopping trips - needless to say I'm now hooked

thanks for the feedback everyone - never thought I would get attached to a piece of machinery again, let alone one that's noisy, has no stereo or airconditioning, and loves petrol - Go Figure ???
