Moderation... Jokes not allowed?

This morning I read a joke posted by a new member, which was in the wrong board but was inoffensive, and tried to post a joke of my own as a reply, but got an error message. Then I found the post by the new member no longer existed, obviously deleted by a moderator who was also online. Could it not have been moved to this board, or are we not allowed any humour in this forum?

I deleted it as it was posted by someone promoting porn and using the this board in the hope that a link to their site on yet another page will help with search engine ratings.

I have recomended to David that their username be deleted. There have been several users registering recently that have links to porn sites in their profiles.

I wasnt trying to prohibit any humour, the world would be a better place if we all laughed a bit more

Sorry I didnt see any links, just the joke, I agree about spammers, can there be a standdown where you have to be a member for so long before posting?
