Stage 1 V8

Hello all I just purchased this today it's been sat in a garden for years I've spent all day cleaning it nice orginal paint nice seats and headlineing, problem is needs a chassis and 4 doors not sure what to do yet can't afford to do anything yet may have to think it over what's chances off finding a chassis and doors not much I guess

Where are you? Chassis and doors are available in England but they cost. First thing to do is to get it upright!

Mid wales the middle off no were I've looked around no chassis for sale at moment I suppose it's a waiting game Iam torn what to do I don't have the money ro throw at it I had a 109 before had to sell to pay for heating and floors in house wish I never sold it

New galvanised chassis is ideal if you can afford it. Otherwise most likely option is to find another Stage 1 with a good, repairable chassis but otherwise rubbish! Either way, it's going to be a considerable expense. If I recall correctly, I have seen chassis offered on here occasionally but then they're usually in Scotland, Germany, the US or some such convenient place! Stage 1 is a nice vehicle to own if you like them but probably not the cheapest option to run and repair these days. Don't know what kind of bargain you got on yours but even ones requiring full restoration are often offered for not inconsiderable sums so, if money is tight, your best bet might be just to try to sell it to someone who can afford to put it on a new galvanised chassis and thus save it and have a nice, and increasingly valuable it seems, vehicle - and take a quick profit? As for regrets, six years ago I sold a 1975 petrol 2.25 109 SW that I'd owned for 22 years, and which ran well but had been pretty much laid up on a SORN for a few years and not seen much use, for £600 - if I'd just left it rotting in my garden, it would have been the best investment I could have made!

PS Given the times, that registration number alone might be worth something!
