Stage 1 V8

Th forum was offline a few hours ago (late 17/9/17 my time, early same date UK time). Anything major we need to know about?

It appears to be OK now without any intervention and the server has been up for 83 days.

I do need to reboot it later today for a new kernel, which will mean a minute or two of downtime, but for anything longer than that I would make an announcement.

I've looked at the server graphs and logs and, whilst the database was under higher than average load for a while at about that time, I can't see any sign of a particular problem.

Was it just the forum or was the whole site unavailable?

The whole site was reported unavailable. Must have been downstream from you. I had full access to other services.

Yes, it seems likely to have been a problem with routing somewhere between the server and you.
