Hi again folks.
Not been on here for a while but I thought you might be interested in a few updates which will also be in CLR in the future. RHP is now looking rather fine with a new bare metal respray in original Marine Blue and I've put a few more miles on the clock. I've done a fair bit of research and spoken to Staff Dewson who was the engineer in charge of Stage 1. It looks like RHP went to Canada for cold weather testing and was the Australian homologation (ADR) vehicle. I've just got the interior to finish but I'm very pleased with the way it's turning out.
Cheers

Looks like you found its original grille badge (see this thread here viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2046)

I made the grille badge from a cut down series 3 badge! I have an old photo of RHP showing the original was made like that, as was the badge on the Stage 2 mule station wagon. Staff Dewson told me he was asked to camouflage the prototypes and simply screwed a series 3 grille on. RHP still has holes in the correct place to attach a standard series 3 plastic grille

Looking fantastic. A great restoration job. Well done :)

I need a badge on mine, I might try to see if I can get one similar to yours.

Thanks! Just get yourself a Series 3 grille and carefully cut out the Land Rover section!

RHP175R looked mighty fine heading up the hill at GoodWood.

WIsh I was there and not just watching on Youtube.

Also a good article in Classic Land Rover magazine of it finished.

Thanks Alan. Great to see the Stage 1 represented there, if only briefly glimpsed a couple of times in the video - and completely ignored by the commentators apparently! (obviously one of the best kept secrets in automotive history :) )
