MOT'd and insured for another year...though I'm not getting to drive her much after a head injury...hoping to be back in action in a couple of weeks.
Actually got the Smiths electric oil gauge to work eventually after changing 2 senders (it wasn't them) and by changing to a scavenged unit from a Range Rover Classic bought on eBay.
Acquired some LT95s and another v8 3528 twin Stromberg CD175 block from what looked to be an early Disco (no idea what condition it's in yet).
Have this crazy notion of getting a 101 to go alongside her as they share many of the same systems - including 11 inch drum brakes and much of the drivetrain with a common spares holding...other than financing the project, the logistics and space needed to hide 2 big Land Rovers in deepest suburbia without annoying the neighbours is part of concern.
It's made me think - as it looks like we're down to the last 120 vehicles in the UK (
https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/?utf8=%E2 ... mit=Search) - should there be a move to combine preservation efforts with the 101 club and early model Range Rover classic clubs?
Still haven't cracked the photo upload yet - which is a shame, because she's something to behold on a sunny day in Richmond Park...even with the possibly excessive patina.
Also - has anyone seen Classic Land Rover magazine (
http://www.classiclandrover.com/)- I haven't seen any Stage 1 features in the issues that I've seen...Do you think it might be worth someone on the forum getting a Stage 1 feature in there???
