I know the SSE museum has a slide of one of these in use. I wonder how many they had. Looks like the Utility Station Wagon concept is far older than we thought as well!

I have no idea about other registration sequences they may have been on, does anyone know more?

Yes I have seen that on ebay a couple of times, doesn't seem to sell. No evidence it is ex-SEB though, I understand the hardtop sides were fitted by a previous owner. Very nice motor all the same.

Interesting, however UC is a London plate and that was built white by the looks of it, probably ex-Police.

I managed to find a couple of photos of one of the V8 utility wagons in service, although I have no idea as to the identity or fate of it, the front looks quite smashed in.





They also had a few 6x6 cherrypickers.

Great to see it is still running and in pretty good nick too.

There's an article about it in March's Classic Land Rover magazine (Issue 22) but it didn't include these old photos of it.

I am told that the vehicle in the river is actually LDP498W as shown in the initial post, I have some more photos on-way to me.

Further, I found this photo recently.



And found at least one of these beasts has survived.
