Hi all.

Have recently secured the purchase of what looks to be a nice example of the marque :D , we will see on Tuesday when I pick up Alice (The kids choice!!) Will put up some pics asap.
I have had LandRovers for the past 20 years, mainly Discovery's, the current Disco 2 is going to fund the endless list of mods and improvements that I have in mind.
Have always wanted to own a 109 station wagon as I have fond memories of holidays and adventures in my fathers 109.
My father now runs around in a 3.9 V8 leightweight that I rebuilt over 15 years ago.
Have also got a tax exempt series 2a (Fred) to rebuild for the other half, so going to be a little buisy over the next few months
Looking forward to getting my hands dirty.

Picked up Alice today. Long drive, round trip of over 300 miles!!
Once back home had a good look over her.
The list of 'to do' seems endless at the moment, and it's very difficult to decide where to start
On the plus side, the bulkhead is in excellent condition, just needs repairing in two area's (repair patches came with the vehicle :D )
One the down side, most of the brakes are 'a little stiff' and there is a clonk clonk clonk coming from the front axle
All the interior trim is present and in good condition, including the headlining
Will get some pics of Alice up as soon as I can, internet here has gone very slow.
Will be picking your brains in due course for hints tips and advice.

I don't think that I could have found better.
She hasn't turned a wheel for 8 years
But thats about to change :D once I can free off the brakes, bleed the brakes, fit a battery and get the engine running.

Good one!

Remember to change all the fluids before trying to start it (oil in engine, gearbox, transfer case, front and rear diffs, drain and flush cooling system, fully replace all the brake fuids, and drain the petrol tank and carbs), pull the plugs and check the cylinders for condensation, grease all the nipples, etc.

that's an LT95 Overdrive with Range Rover Operating lever.

The truck looks great, Masai Red = Perfect and from the pix in pretty good shape. Not a plate I've seen on fleabay/ads either.

How much did you pay (if you are prepared to answer ;) ) and any history?

It was on Ebay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-St ... 45fe9935ed
Advertised with a galvanised chassis too. Nice looking motor, I like the original pressed ally' number plate.

Yes it is the one that was on e-bay.
Yes she is sitting on a nice new galvanised chassis
Yes it does have the original pressed ally number plate
She cost not alot more than starting price  I got in quick as I missed out on another one because I couldn't make my mind up.

I am toying with the idea of dropping in a LT85 gearbox to get 5 speed without too much modification, which will mean the overdrive will be surplus to requirements.

She will also be getting a heart transplant as well, looking at a 4.6 for lots of bottom end torque (I do a fair bit of towing)

The seats will also be changed to something alittle more comfortable.
She will need new springs and shocks, have not decided which way to go with the springs (parabolic vs std leaf)
I know that this may not 'please' everyone, but Alice will be replacing my current Disco 2 and will be my everyday vehicle. Seats will be coming from Exmoor Trim along with a few other items from them.

I have lots of other idea's, which I will start a new topic for as I would welcome any comments/advice as there are lots and lots of people selling all sorts of parts etc for the series LR's and it is difficult to know where to go :?
