The owner seems to have failed to mention the (very obvious) jam job repaint. For that kind of money you could reasonably buy from the other side of the world and have it shipped to England.

odd paint job

Post by sebking »

It's stated that it is in excellent order - but why painted green when originally Masai Red. I've never seen a rear cross member painted in body colour - one can only wonder what's hiding under that.

Was previously on ebay and got to £1850 reserve not met. £3995 now - wow!

Seller usually deals in defenders etc.

I’d be astonished if the sale completes. With no mention of history, mileage or number of owners it seems way too good to be true for something so far off from being original. The DIY respray and overspray together with the bolt on accessories might float somebody’s boat. What a shame it’s not still in its original colour.

For those that bid and didn't win, PM me if you've got that kind of money to spend, I recon mine is better and I don't consider it to be worth anything near that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope C***K is pleased with their buy....................

What, no second chance offers to those who were out bid the first time round?

I wonder if this is priced in way that the seller thinks it will get caught up in the ever inflationary prices for the D110s being imported to the US.

Now that the coilers can be legally imported to the US - the VIN plates for 1984 D110s are very expensive and I have seen some serious junk sell for some serious cash over here. Rust buckets for $10K and show pieces for $60K.

too much

Post by sebking »

still too much.

3/4 years ago there was some silly money being asked for these and then heading off to the USA.

£2650 is too much, I'd go for the yellow one on the 'bay ending soon.

Caveat Emptor.

Americans were doing this a few years ago with Mokes and Minis. Only junk was being sent over and they couldn't get enough.
