Stage 1 V8

Hi all

asked this same question on another landrover forum; my gearbox started groaning at me the other day and I need rescuing by the RAC. There was an oil leak and I need the box filling up again.

My local garage are not landrover experts, and I've been told to tell them to put in 15-30 oil - is that right?

No reason to doubt the fella that told me, but thought I'd check with other stage-1ers.

Any help appreciated.

The manual which I have says to use engine oil for both the main box and transfer box. Unlike the other Series boxes, which use splash lubrication, there is an oil pump in the LT95 and I have always assumed that this was the reason for the difference in oil type.
