Maybe it would be easier to get the parts from an old Range Rover in Portugal with the same LT 95 gearbox? Maybe even swap the whole gearbox might be easier? Remember the front output on your Landrover is different to the Range Rover so you will need to swap that over.

Bearmach are very good for parts.

Avoid anything with the name 'Britpart'. It's normaly made in China to very poor standards from very bad materials.

Good luck!

So, what alerted you? Was it the clunking and rattling sound beneath the floor? Image

I would do a complete replacement myself. It is likely the casing has been distorted and damaged excessively too.

This is usually the result of driving off road without the diff lock engaged.
get another centre diff and put in LT230 Shafts and some new gears and whatever else needs replacing

and put in LT230 Shafts
How similar are the transfer cases and what else is interchangeable? Is there any advantage to using LT230 parts apart from availability?

The LT230 shafts are like the later LT95 shafts but seem to be more readily available.
They have grooves machined in them unlike most Stage 1 ones, these shafts help with lubrication of the centre pins and gears this prevents what you are looking at in the pictures above.
You can also machine the centre diff housing and use LT230 shims to effectively blueprint the LT95. (a bit difficult as they really were not adjustable from the factory)
