what i am trying to achieve is my stage1 has a 5speed long stick gearbox
fitted from a range rover-it feels over geared, handbrake is useless+speedo
reads miles out
i have been offered 3 lt95s-one from a rangie(minus bell housing),one from
a 101fc and one possibley from an early 110
trying to work out which one will match original spec the closest+easiest
to fit

I assume that the gearbox you currently have fitted is the LT77 box?
I would think a little more before fitting an LT95 back in.
Of course it all depends on what you are trying to achieve, but the 95 is quite a noisy gearbox compaired to the 77, you've got 5 gears as apposed to just 4, which should help to improve the 'economy'.
The speedo can be re-calibrated, speak to speady cables about their recalibration service, and to improve the handbrake you could fit the X eng handbrake kit (replaces the drum handbrake with a disc). If the engine is struggling with the high ratio's, make sure the restrictors in the intake manifold have been removed.
My stage 1 (Alice) will end up with this setup. like I say it all depends on what you want at the end of the day!!
Hope that this helps!
