Hi, I'm new to Stage 1 ownership, having recently bought a 1982 109 SW. I have a problem with 2 leaking oil pipes/hoses which connect from the oil filter housing to an external oil cooler underneath the radiator. I've looked through all the manuals, but can't find a part number or picture for these pipes/hoses. Also, I can't find the cooler shown on any pics of Stage 1 V8s online. This looks like a factory fit, as you can see from the pic below, there is a cut out for airflow to the cooler next to the crank handle hole.
Can anyone help on where I can get new pipes? Any advice welcome.

External oil cooler
All factory fit, optional parts.
The optional parts list is once again useless in this area. Try looking in the NZDF parts book for a picture but all the numbers will be NSNs. Otherwise the first 110 parts books.
Are you after the flex hoses or the rigid pipes?
Could you take a picture of how the lower grille pokes into the body? It should be drilled holes but I've never been able to get and answer or find an original panel to look at.
Otherwise as a quick fix you can remove all the adaptors and just run the normal oil filter without the cooler.

I think you're right, it's going to be the best way to get them - yes it's the flexi pipes, so a new set of braided ones makes sense.5988 wrote:Dont recall seeing anything like that before
you should be able to get new pipes made up easily (I assume flexi pipes you need?) - find a hydraulics specialist and they should be able to copy what you have

Thanks fireman, I'm pretty amazed with it too - it was sat in a field for 3 years before I picked it up & is in remarkable condition.firemanshort wrote:Your front end looks awful nice. I have never seen one with the Land Rover badge not faded.

I'm sure it's had work done over the years, so maybe the badge was replaced at some point - I'm still working my way through the folder of paperwork that came with it, so it could be listed in there.
