LT95 gearbox wanted

Post by flyingkipper »

No laughing at the back.

I would like a good LT95.
Mine is suffering from:
- Noisy layshaft bearings
- Oil leak at rear output shaft (to be fair that was my fault)
- Excessive play basically everwhere.

It is now awful to use, but it was pretty awful 5 years ago so I can't complain. I want to increase the ratios but in current state it is not worth spending money on.

I know this is a bit of a long shot but if anyone has one that is not noisy or too worn I would like it please. Ratio is unimportant as I will put a Range Rover gearset in it.
Anything in southern Britain considered, could arrange courier too.

Thank you for reading.

Noel.

Thanks. Typical isn't it, the week I actually want one there is sod all on ebay.

Was also considering NK Recovery who has an MOD recon listed on his site.

The 110 has been dormant for a while so just sorting it out now. Rear crossmember full of holes so its all go this spring for the landy!

Hey FK, sorry to be kinda off topic, but can you tell me what the differences are between the stage 1 LT95, and the 110 LT95

Sorry not for sale at the moment

It is very good (67K from new with LR service history) but some silly person has sheared the threads out of the casing on the drain plug so casing is U/S

My stage 1's box is in dubious condition (a PO has told me he ran it without oil for some time before realising) - so might need the 110 box bits in the stage 1 casing yet. I would sell it if my stage 1 box turns out ok, but need it on the road to know that first

Have you considered a 5 speed from a V8 110 ... would save putting the RRC gearing into a LT 95

Have considered a 5 speed yes, but with the crossmember needing replacement too I want to see if I can find a good four speed and keep costs down.

LT-95

Post by marnold »

Hello Noel,

I have an LT-95. I bought it as a brand new, old stock item from Dunsfold around five years ago, covered approximately 5,000 miles with it before a fault occured with my engine. Dunsfold also fitted the Range Rover Olympic, high ratio transfer case gears.

I have since restored and converted the vehicle to diesel along with a 6 speed transmission which makes the LT-95 surplus. An expensive mistake on my part!

If you are interested in the gearbox then please give me a shout on 01926 642076. It may take a little time to dig it out of storage as I hadn't thought about selling it until reading this!

Best
