Front Halfshafts

Post by DPuckey »

Would anyone have a source for new or secondhand front halfshafts?

Have now got a solution, getting a second hand disco diff fitted (metric & takes 23/24 spline shafts) and getting some overlength heavy duty 23/24 halfshafts from Rakeway (apparently 23 spline is stronger than the original fit of 10 spline at the diff end). The overlength shafts are made with overlength splines to allow them to be cut to length by those needing custom length shafts.

Hopefully problem all sorted and they should never break again, the old ones did not do too bad lasting 27 years!

Cheers for that, that's some good information.

You can buy 10/23 spline AMS6418 axles in Australia
The guy that took over making Maxi Axles does them they are stronger than the standard 24 spline ones.
