Someone might want a pop at it, galv chassis and altered defender bulkhead.

Galvanizing is applying a sacrificial zinc coating to the chassis (i.e the zinc corrodes not the steel ...and it takes a very long time)
Basically the chassis gets cleaned and then dumped in a path of molten zinc, this then flows into the chassis everywhere, if done right covering all the metal. ....theres lots better explanations on the internet
if you feel like some reading

Stage 1 SW, Galv. Chassis
Yes, I bought it.
I have taken possession and it has been through our workshops.
It has now had its fluids changed and is in rude health. The tyres, although they looked new, were all running at 10psi only.
The vehicle is in very good condition coming with thousands of pounds worth of receipts for work carried out over the last couple of years.
The bulkhead work was of a high standard, the chassis is of course perfect.
It all works ie lights wipers horn etc., the previous owner having given up at the stage of reassembling the dash board. This looks straightforward.
The engine and drivetrain are A1, the only mechanical fault was the threads on the dash pot dampers were worn, so they were popping out.
Next week the brakes will be checked, the dash board completed and maybe an MOT.
The paint is all original, the body very straight. A couple of the doors need minor frame repairs. The unpainted closed rivets on the rear tub are still unpainted.
The plan is to paint the body "off" the chassis, originality being the key.
The tyres are coming off so I can refinish the rims, so all in all a quick tidy up should produce a very tidy station wagon. I shall post some pics.
Thats the plan anyway.

Stromberg Dash Pot pistons Required Please
Hi,
The dash is now in, new heater control wires ordered. The rear brakes turned out to be new, so have been reassembled. The front brakes need replacing, so parts ordered.
The wheels have been swapped to allow the originals to be refurbished.
Does anyone know the difference between a Stage 1 Bonnet and a Defender bonnet? Is it a significant difference? Mine is a bit ropey, but repairable. I can get my hands on any number of Defender items, which seems like it could be the most sensible fix.
This bare alloy Stage 1 (link below) looks nice to me. Dont think I will be fitting Wolf wheels however (havnt got any), Do you think they modified the door tops of fitted military items?

Anyone got any dash pot pistons for the Strombergs?

Carbs
Nice one. Might just buy some refurbed carbs anyway looking at their website. They look like good value.
