Not quite sure of your question.

Any Rover/buick V8 attached to a LT95 Gearbox/Transfer case has essentially the same bell housing.

Nothing else is the same.

Im not sure they are longer?
Im pretty sure when considering swapping to a RRC LT95 box i measured them as the same length
Not aware of any other differences on a RRC LT95 bellhousing to a Stage 1 Belhousing

the other RR gearbox's are different

Yup, just to add to the above. All LT95 Range rover and stage 1 bellhousings are the same. 101's are shorter by around 108mm. I've just put one in my stage 1 with a 6.2 GMC diesel.
The other manual gearboxes used by the Range rover, LT77 and R380, have many and varied bellhousings which are interchangeable (along with the first motion shaft where applicable) throughout the whole modern landrover range except the LT95. Discovery the longest, 2.5 N/A diesel the shortest.
What are you up to that inspired the question? Engine conversion?

The Range rover classic LT95 and the Stage 1 housings are definately different, I got a secondhand box from a RRC and I had swap over the housing as well as the front output as they were both very similar but there were differences.

Naw, check your parts books - same numbers. I've also got Rangie LT95 parts and Stage I LT95 parts sitting next to our front door, (as you do! My poor wife), and there's no difference that I can see.

The shape and holes on the belhousing and the removable cover plate are where the differences lie. That's why I had to swap mine over when I swapped the box. I'm sure I saw 5988 post that he had 3 different ones, as he was looking for the right one at some point.

yep, I have three all with differen tholes and covers (and no cover for the one thats in  )
There the same otherwise that I can tell, so as long as you have the cover for the box it doesnt matter which you use that i can see

Thanks - I stand corrected. Wouldn't you know I'd forgotten all about that and didn't look at the coverplates for the Rangie housing. My Rangie parts book says:

Up to gearbox #35506011A = bellhousing #571832 (this is the pressed steel coverplate 610926)
From gearbox #35506012A to 35567045C = bellhousing #594175 (cast ally coverplate 594086)
From gearbox #35567046C = bellhousing #FRC2858, which is the same as the Stage I. (cast ally coverplate FRC2859)

But this is the only difference and the input shafts are the same.
