Think 1970s RR ran on 16/235 tyres rather than 16/750s so may again not read correctly. Don't know what tpm RR speedos are or whether they would fit.
RRs ran on 205's ...so about 13% under reading

Eventually got the brakes working on mine :D :D I fitted a speedo out of a Triumph Herald (bought for less than £10 from eblag) which I believe to be 1000 tpm. Anyway it underreads by ~10 % (i.e. when i'm doing 40 it reads 36 mph). Better than it was.

Very chuffed. Don't know whether it was because it had sat for two months, or just a heavy right foot but it returned 10.5 mpg (on LPG) including some laning this weekend. Normal for me is 12-14 mpg. Think camshaft may be moving up list of priorities.

We well and truly covered this some time ago. I posted a description with tooth count for the Stage I and Rangie speedo drive gears.

So don't waste time mucking about with strange speedometers - use a SIII 109" speedo and the correct drive gears. Like the factory did!

I do here what you say, but I dont fancy stipping the box at this time

I am thinking about an OD, idealy I would like to get a second box, recondion this and fit the correct drive that would be some time in the new year though

I sill find the LR undergeared on the Moterway
