Front prop flange

Post by 5988 »

Slightly confused with the ront prop,
Ive got a proper stage 1 shaft, which has a bigger drive flange than a normal landrover prop
This is considerably bigger than the flange on my gearbox ...
is there an adaptor pipec that goes in there?
or is the output flange unique to the stage 1
the parts book gives FRC2256 as the gearbox output flange
Ive looked on various parts web sites which list it as Otput flange 4spd V8 (this is the same part no as given for the RRc and 101)....suggesting it isnt a unique part
i dont want to sped £75 on the flange to find its the same as the one i have and there is a piece to join them?

so how does the prop fit the drive flange

Hi,

I have just been outside and measured the flange on the prop and the flange on the gearbox (LT95) for you.

They are both 125 mm diameter. There is no adaptor ring. If the flange on your gearbox is a different size to the prop it is not the correct one.

Hope that this helful.

I suggest you recheck the parts list you are using.

Our Land-Rovers use the Saginaw front prop. Therefore flange at gearbox end has to match (7/16 bolts). No adaptors.

You should find that some Discos and 101FC should use the same part. Range-Rover and 110 use the standard size flange (3/8 bolts).

I am in the middle of changing over my gearbox for a RR one that I have purchased and it seems that the Stage 1 output flange and housing are both different to that on the RR, thus I am having to swap them over. The Stage 1 housing is about and inch longer and the flange is much larger. hope this helps,

Matt.
