Front floor mats for a Stage 1 hard top

Post by Mrs Bingham »

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get decent made to measure or OE floor mats for the Stage 1? I have a concoction of mats in an array of varied condition plus it does look like I do have the remains of the original one on the passenger side. None of which of course are good enough to use as a template. Ideally I would like new ones that fit perfectly so making them up myself would be a last resort.

Regards Mark…

I found one N.O.S. RH mat at Dunsfold. Alternately, Nu-links still pop up occasionally and they do last a very long time so being used doesn't matter too much.

I would also be intrested in a supplier as my Stage 1 is bare metal at that point with only the gearbox cover remaining

I made my mats!! :)

I had the original matting over the trasmission tunnel still in tact, but the actual floor was just bare metal.
So i invested in a rear load mat from paddocks, and cut it out. And if i say so myself, its looking quite good!

If you take your time, making them yourself will be worth it in the end :)
Now on the road, and loving it!!!! =)

I made a template using tape and standard series mats. Then purchased a huge piece of stable/horse box matting which is non slip, 8mm thick and acid resistant.

I've made mats for the front and the rear - looks great and very cheap.

Would have been a better job if I'd had the real ones as templates but looks really good with the added benefit of sound proofing.
