anyone running anything other than a V8 in there S1?
something diesel?

from what i gather over here in nz, the nissan ld28 or ld27 motor is a popular conversion with series rovers, although most are done with the standard series not the stage 1's.

also found out a couple of months ago the nz army who had a whole lot of v8 stage 1's, when they deployed to Bosnia under the UN they had several stage 1's fitted with 300TDi motors.

Quite a few Stage 1's in Oz were fitted with Isuzu 4BD1 diesels from new. A very successful conversion too by all accounts. A tough engine that lasts well and has heaps of torque at low revs.

I had a Perkins 4236 in my old Stage1...I broke the Landy due to chassis rust but the engine is still in the shed with th LT 95 box still mounted ..
This Landy w2ould climb the side of a skyscraper with the big Perkins fitted....Might sell if anyone wants it......?

now got me a V8, going with that and LPG
what was the 4236 like--smoke,economy etc
still considering one for my 109 diesel S2

got a 200 tdi and an lt77 box in mine
its a good conversion and easy to do if you want pics or ask any questions messsage me
