One Ton Rims

Post by mrplacid »

I have a set of one ton rims (rivet type). Anyone got any advice re fitting tubeless tyres? I acquired a set of General Grabber TR's 235/85R16 which are a tubeless tyre but can't decide whether to try them without tubes. Is this dangerous in that the tyre could come off the rim? If I opt for tubes will the ribbed surface inside the tubeless tyre chafe the tube?

Thanks

Martin, i allways put tubes in when i change tyres on my 1 tons, i have had them for 8 or 9 years now and only come unstuck once when i fitted a ribbed Kelly 750/16. Unfortunatly i was half way to Billing. THats another adventure!.
