whats this pipe with coolant coming out?
Evening,
had the engine running again today.
unfortunitally coolant started comming out of the pipe marked with the arrow in the attached picture. l have cleaned the pipe (full of soot)
l cannot find anywhere what this pipe connection is for.
in the end l had to fit a peice of pipe to it and run into the overflow bottle to get the engine to continue to run. It would stall if the flow was stopped
any ideas please?
regards

hi and thanks for the reply,
l have just checked my rad, there is a pipe that runs from the top of the expansion bottle to the top left hand corner of the ras, just next to the filler bolt.
l have always thought that the cooling system was under presure when running, (which is why you never take the filler cap off the engine until it has cooled down)
could you please send me a picture of your pipe line from the induction manifold to the the rad.
have you fitted a T peice here into the top of the rad?
regards

hi
currently not at home at the moment so cannot check the top right of the rad.
l do know that there is a larger pipe that runs from the top of the RHS rad to the front of the induction manifold as it goes through the valve. approx 1.5" dia. cannot remember the other pipe though, hopefully home tomorrow so will check then.
regarding the Home Market vehicle - it originated from the Isle of Man police before returing to the main land. (by the way it was adverstised for sale on this very forum a couple of years ago.)
thanks for your help Map1275
