Oil pressure transmitter

Post by Kippa »

I've just received an oil pressure transmitter from Dingocroft, part number DRC2479, but it looks nothing like the one fitted to my V8.

Does anybody know if the part was updated/revised. I don't want to go to all the effort of removing the old one just to find out the new one doesn't fit.

My Stage 1 is a 1979, engine no. 11G00477

Thanks,
Kev

Are you after the one for the gauge or the one for the warning light? The engine is fitted with both, though the warning light is standard, not the gauge.

When I disconnect it the gauge stops working so I imagine it must be the one to the gauge.

The reason for replacing it is because it's leaking oil all over the front diff.

This unit should be a large cylinder with an electrical terminal, originally made by Smiths.
The one for the oil light is far smaller. The third unit is for oil temp and is the same style as the coolant temp unit in the manifold.
