Gary what waterproofing measures do you take.. There was a set of waterproof ex army leads and dizzy on ebay a few months back but they went for over £300. ouch
the location of the dizzy is a pain, but yeah no jokes, a rubber glove stretched over the top of the dizzy with the fingers cut off for the leads, and some electrical tape to help it out. It's not a permanent fix but i dont end up driving all that much through rivers.
I use lots of CRC on the plugs, take the lead off spray some on and put them back on, and it seems to do alright.
I purchased from one of the Shows a rubber 9 fingered glove. it's made from very thick rubber and does an excellent job of waterproofing the Dizzy. I also have a coil glove as well. One important thing is to keep the air induction system as per factory. Many people strip it down and bolt K&n filters to the air intakes. The Main airbox has a drain and a high up air intake to prevent hydraulicing. One thing I found out to my expense is that you cannot run suppressed leads and suppressed plugs at the same time, the V8 will tick over fine but will not rev. That cost me a garage bill to work that out.

My mate took this picture of me trying to cross axle the V8. I'm very impressed with the rear nearside wheel. Anyone got any ideas how to get a bit more out of the front.
Went back to the same place on Sunday, up the river, this time with some company.
Got a little more adventurous and ended up having to be pulled out by a Hilux and Pajero, when I got into a soft spot in the river bed.
