Hello from Derbyshire

Post by si_guru »

Hello my name is Steve from Belper, Derbyshire. I am a member of BADLRC and LandRoverNet.com and recently I bought a full restored Stage 1. It is the same red vehicle you can see on the Glencoyne -> Stage 1 forum link page.

Currently I am looking replacing the exhaust with a stainless steel item. Can anyone recommended a supplier and a fitter?

Welcome to the forum Steve,

can't help you with the exhaust problem, but will be interested in how you get on as you're in the same area as me and I may be needing a new one myself soon.

Hopefully someone on here will have the answer.

Hi Steve,

Welcome to the forum.

Rimmer Bros list a stainless exhaust for the stage 1 with a part number of LR1021 but dont show a price.

i got my exhaust from scorpion raceing, but i bought 1 to fitt a 110 v8, just had to chop off few inches befor tail pipe went on, only other prob had was the down pipes were catching on the front leaf, rear shackle bolts, but sortd that. you mite also have to lift the engine a little on` as your sat in it` the left side to get the down pipe on, cost me bout £500 nal but my god it sounds so goooooood!!!!!!!

Hi Andy,

There's a picture on this link http://www.itcon.dk/bojstrup/Billeder/2 ... %20002.jpg

It's being rebuild on a new galvanized stw chassis, new custom made bulkhead, tic parabolics, nos complete front axle, rebuild engine, rebuild gearbox with high ratio, new doors, sills, side frames, leather seats - the list is almost endless :) There's still some tidying to do here & there (oh yeah, and the wife told me to slow down..), but its getting very nice :) The project have been going on since last summer. Richard (Glencoyne) have been excellent to deal with - highly recommended.

Thanks - but its really Glencoyne who deserves the praise - I just ordered it :) Oh, forgot to mention that in the process it was also converted to LHD - that was quite a challenge, considering the scarcity of some LHD parts.
