Reversing lights

Hi could anyone tell me if the renersing light should have an earth strip fitted like the font side lights have
or what other faults cause lights not to work
Bulbs are OK

Could be any number of things. If the lamps are ok, check for corrosion on the lamp holders, check for a good earth, then check you have 12 volts at the lamp holder. If not, work your way back to the reverse light switch and check you have 12 volts there. If you have 12 volts going in and nothing coming out, the switch is knackered. If you don't have 12 volts to the switch, then trace the wire back to source. I have had a look in the manual, and I can't find the reverse light circuit mentioned so am not sure if it will be fused on its own or with another group of lights. Are any other lights not working? if so, check fuses etc.
