Stage 1 Exhaust

Post by Landyboy »

The back part of my exhaust is about to part company with the rest of the vehicle and I thought this might be a good time to modify the system in some way to make it sound a bit more meaningful and meaty. Has anybody modified theirs???? - if so - how????

I have brought my car to a specialist shop where they build me a custom stainless one.
Only one small absorbtion damper and some fluctuation in the diameter made it sound really great (you can wake me up for it 8) ) and I have a lot more power in the lower revs. The people asked me before they started building what I wanted in the way of more torque or more bhp in the higher revs.

It's a one time investment, but lifetime warranty covers the costs of replacing a rotten steel one each 3 of 4 years. Not to mention the sound and preformance..

I'm still glad I decided it to be done by professionals after a year and I can only encourage not to do it yourself.

Hi
I have just taken a tubular exhaust system off mine it has stainless boxes
and was off a Range Rover the sound was really good it has a lot of welding as I had to cut it to fit the Stage1
Yours for £100 ono if interested I live in Glenfield Leicester

A silencer is in 2 parts a front box to silence the exhaust and rear a box to balance the back pressure so just leave out the front bigger box and listen to that V8 burble it does not sound excessive. You can get a section of "Jetex" exhaust pipe from Graham Goodes on Aylestone rd to fill in the missing big box then if reqiured just put the box back for MOT,s
