Does anyone know where I could get my diff reassembled & set up? I've got a new crownwheel & pinion set & don't want to do the job by eye. All the firms i've phoned say they send them away, so somewhere there must be a workshop full of diffs & an overworked bloke with a puller & dial gauge just waiting for some pain in the like me to ring!
If you know this bloke, please let me know & spare an innocent diff a tragic end.

Bumpkin. Crown Diffs sorted me. I can recommend them & the 1:2.83 conversion. At 60 mph (topless) the only noise is wind & a slight exhaust burble. I remembered the need to be careful not to overheat the new diff as it slid past 75. A quiet Landrover? No, it can't be! I'm delighted. Not so pleased about the water comsumption....half a litre in 26 miles!!! No visible leaks, no gunge in water - a real Paul Daniels job. Must be internal corrosion, possibly in heads. SO.....has anyone just spent a fortune doing up a V8, then decided to go diesel and want to get rid? Thought not, I'm the only mug in town. But I'm not addicted, you know. I could give it up anytime......but just one more engine & I swear it will be fine.
