After joining the forum it is becoming clear that I could be one of a few that own a factory 88 v8 stage one ,true or false ?

there are a few but very few and some others that are just home brew.

Dear Seb mine has been confirmed as a true model.there is one more in the country I tracked it down and went to see it is in Wales.There is a picture of my vahicle on www.landrovermadco.uk its the pageant blue reg SKV 777W.The stage one in Wales is red,good luck if you take on the register will help if you need it Regards Kevin

Hey now that you mention it, I saw on an episode of Sons of Anarchy what looked like an 88" Stage 1 ?? That was when they went off to Ireland. There was also a 109 hard top and a a 101 FC that they ran into a tree

The two 88 inch S1 V8 County Station Wagons (SKV777W and the red one: HOJ573W) have both recently been restored. There is an article about them in the current issue of Land Rover Monthly magazine and they can also be seen in the Dunsfold collection's website.

You could have seen them in police livery - but the order for 24 88" V8's was originally for the Jamaican police - but the order was cancelled - and left Land Rover with 24 RHD non-standard and non-homologated vehicles - so the market for them where limited

I would love to see the police picture if you have it ?
