After a while away from this forum I want to keep up posting pictures etc of work done on my car.
Since I bought it back in 2005 i've done a gearbox change and engine swap. Rebuilt a 3.5 back in 2008 and have done a lot of miles with it since. Until last year it was my daily drive.
Problem was I kept finding nice parts, but never had the time to bolt them on. Now that I have a Discovery for driving to work I have a chance of getting the car off the road for some more tima and work on it.

At the moment I am busy fitting Disc Brakes.
Found an early TIC set, rebuilt the calipers end fittings, rebuilt swivelhousing and swivels (chrome was in very bad shape) and trying to fit CV joints from an early 110. I'll ad pics later.
Also I found an empty 4.6 block. Pressure tested it now I am in the last phase of the buildup. Should be an interesting setup all in all when finished!

Some more progress in fitting the front disc brakes. Right hand side nearly finished, all the parts needed for the left hand side are there, so shouldn't take too long before testdriving it.
The set was intended to fit standard series landrovers, so had to change some parts for fitting them on the Stage One.
Stub axles needed some milling to receive series style wheel bearings. The outer bearing is smaller, but the inner bearings diameter is bigger. Had to machine the axle down, and shrink fit a bush for the inner bearing. Also the surface for the inner oil seal is smaler diameter and shorter than S1 v8 model, had to machine that down also.
(Left= std 109 V8 Center=machined axle Right=std Series)
Because my CV was knackered I fitted the early 110 type CV, AEU 2522, wich is slightly shorter then S1 model. I chopped off 3.8 mm of the nose of the driveflange to compensate. Circlip is on the right place giving it the right amount of end float for cv/halfshaft.
There is just enough material left to keep the O-ring in place inside hub end cap.

Well, it's been a while since last posting
Still own and drive the car regularly.
What has changed sice?
Mounted 4.6 with zf4hp22 autobox and 1.2 lt230 transferbox.
Bought and rebuild axleset of a land cruiser BJ70 with massive 9.5"diffs, and strong internals.
Front disc brakes standard and rear converted with patrol Y60 (GU) discs and calipers and Aussie locker in the rear.
255 x 85 x 16 Toyo open country MT tires on modular 7j rims.
Blos LPG mixer
Converted to softtop
Made a new front winch bumper and swing away spare wheel carrier.
Absolutely love the conversion as is, she's been great, beautiful and goes a long way offroading.
Currently in the process of bulkhead change. Found a "not to bad" stage 1 bulkhead that I am repairing on the moment. It will be galvanised.
Good to see the forum is still active, as a lot of info has been shared in the years. Shame if all this would go lost.
