Heater box pipework numbers?

Post by Bug4029 »

Hi, Hopefully someone can fit me the part numbers for the pipework coming out the heater box? Doesn't seem to be in my parts books. Kind regards, George

Guessing you are referring to the metal pipes. These appear to have been craftily made from unobtainium. However, a radiator repairer ought to be able to make the same if you already have them.

They're in the Optional Parts book with (so helpfully) no diagram. Are you looking for some?

Hi Geoff, Yes, that would be good. Here's the current DIY set up. Kind regards, George

I've basically got the whole setup, including both pipes, all the hoses (including some new ones in addition), and a leaky original valve. I'll try to look them out tomorrow and post exactly what I've got with part numbers.

Further to my post above, I've got the two metal heater pipes (feed and return) for RH Steering models - they are both the same - part number NRC2985

They are still connected together with 2 clamps, part no. 594637 (described as saddle clips in the Optional Parts book) & fixings thereto

Also still connected to these two pipes are:

2 X hose elbows NRC3316 (that connect the pipes to the heater box)

hoses NRC3317 and NRC2984 (that connect the pipes to the heater valve on RH Stg models)

I also have hoses ERC3485 (water outlet to heater valve) and ERC3486 (heater valve to return pipe)

I also have the original heater valve assembly ERC3564 which was seized. I have freed it up somewhat after removing it from the vehicle, but it was also leaking, which was the reason I removed it.

I also have the locking pin 566902 that attaches the operating cable to the heater valve.

All the above parts, with the exception of the heater valve assembly, although somewhat grubby were working satisfactorily before being removed.

In addition, I have new Genuine Parts hoses NRC3317 and ERC3485 still sealed in their Genuine Parts packaging from Dunsfold and receipt, and Genuine Parts hose NRC2984 from Britcar with receipt.

To my knowledge, none of these parts are readily available other than the locking pin/cable trunnion and the two hoses from Dunsfold. They also quoted me £43 for ERC3486 then but don't appear to have it in stock now (I hadn't traced the leak to the valve itself at that point) If anyone's interested in buying any of these parts, let me know. I'll swap the lot for the NOS bonnet lock you have on ebay, Bug4029, if the key works.
