NEW Stage 1 Project

Post by MondoV8 »

Good Day,

just a quick introduction, purchased a Stage 1 V8 projectLand Rover. not very familiar with working on them but do a lot of my
own mechanical work so don't think I should have too many issues with the restoration..

I will no doubt harass the chat for info / advice on certain parts of the re build.. look forward to interacting with you all.

will add a couple of pics shortly.. running for the helicopter home just now

Hello Raymond. I'm doing the same. Some very helpful people here. The forum is not that busy as there are obviously not so many Stage 1's around nowadays, but the people who are here are pretty knowledgable and generous. Get the photos up and share with us. Good luck with the project.

hahaha,

I have been told that there are very few 88 Stage 1 around. apparently the story goes that the Jamaican arms ordered 20+ SWB stage 1 paid deposit, Land Rover built them and shipped them.. the remaining money due was not paid.. the first port of stop was Trinidad where they were all off loaded and auctioned off..

I actually know the son in law on the guy that bought the car new off the port..

Hi,

Welcome aboard. Yeah, you have something that is a bit special and rare.

I didn't know that part of the story. That would be why I never saw any of those vehicles in their correct livery. :!:

Yours also has a few modifications that do not exist in the 109s.

Cheers
Alan
