It still appears on the DVLA website so you may be able to contact them.

The vehicle details for ASF 42W are:

Date of Liability 01 04 2007
Date of First Registration 12 03 1981
Year of Manufacture 1981
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 3528CC
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status SORN Not Due
Vehicle Colour RED
Vehicle Type Approval

It looks like someone taxed a vehicle carrying this reg in the last 2 weeks as its road tax isnt due until next april. I wonder if the person driving around in this vehicle knows its a ringer?

I'll try and contact DVLA . . . we'll see . . .

EDIT: I called just now and, not surprisingly, they didn't care to talk to me either. They told me to call the police. You would think they would be a little more interested in someone fraudulently registering vehicles through their agency. . .

Heard back from the UK seller today. He gave me the correct VIN and it matches with the vehicle report I ordered earlier. So that's good. But I think he only got back into touch with me because I pretended to be interested in importing another one of his vehicles. Still working on getting the correct V5.
