New Owner

Post by Cliff4WD »

Hello all,
It's been a while negotiating etc., but I have now taken on ownership of Captainslow's 1981 Stage One. I thought I'd best wait until I actually had the vehicle before introducing myself. I haven't formulated my restoration plan yet, but I intend to make as full a restoration as I can, although money will be a restricting factor. The engine runs well, it already has a galvanised chassis, but it is in need of some bulkhead restoration. I imagine that I'll be stripping it down to the chassis and removing the bulkhead to do the repairs (or replace it if I have to), and most likely be restoring/replacing suspension, drive, etc.

I also have a Discovery 2 td5 Millennium which I have been steadily maintaining and fixing, and use as my daily drive.

I'll start a restoration thread when I get started and keep it updated as things progress.

Look forward to getting to know you all.

Cliff

It's your standard utility vehicle; 2 front doors, rear door, hard top and sides. Galvanised chassis and I think, a replacement bulkhead. Engine was rebuilt by RPI in the late 90's

I assume you're referring to my disco thread link in signature. That's there for anybody interested but is not in itself relevant to a stage 1 forum. I was intending to create a thread here for my stage 1 restoration but do not see a topic for that, any suggestions where best to place it? (Clean polite answers please  )
