FRC 1931 - Swivel Bearing Housing

Post by Pageant Blue 109 V8 »

Yes, yes, I know. Unobtainable at a reasonable price. A couple of vendors are listing it, but do they actually exist?

However, I have a cunning plan to re-manufacture in manganese bronze or silicon bronze, will also look at making 539741 as well.

But first I need a second-hand FRC1931 to reverse-engineer the dimensions.

Anybody in the UK or maybe Europe got a badly pitted example collecting dust for just such an eventuality?

I have 2 good ones, but they are currently in daily use...

p.a blanchard have 1 frc 1931 in stock-£395+vat but cannot get anymore
rovers north in the usa are advertising new ones
heystee do a conversion to convert a 4/6 cyl front axle to stage1 v8 spec-but looks like it uses a standard series 3 swivel housing

Hi Lee,

you can have them as far as I'm concerned. They are in my garage in Surrey with a load of other bits, I think they are in fairly good nick. I do spend a lot of time in Plymouth so that might be an easier option

all the best
