Hello:
This is my Land Rover Stage One V8 Station Wagon (LHD). I bought in Holland and now it is in Cazorla, a village in the province of Jaen in Andalusia.
I had to register it as Historic because the administration did not allow for a standard registration (this version was never marketed in Spain).
The vehicle has all original excepting overdrive, power steering and disc brakes. I've changed the springs for a Land Rover Santana 6 cylinder (they are more robust and the car is higher).
I've removed the restrictors of intake manifold and I've installed an electronic ignition kit (distributor, spark plugs, wires and coil).
In the future I want to completely disassemble and reassemble everything piece by piece while maintaining the same original colors.

What kind of disk brake conversion did they use?

In principle we use the ends of the front axle of a Land Rover Santana 6 Cylinder (Cazorla Model). This conversion using cardan shafts with high speed generate a lot of vibration. (the brake calipers have a single piston each)
To solve the problem of vibrations, we have now used the front axle ends of a Land Rover Santana 2500 (more modern), as it used shafts with constant velocity joint (like the original stage One) and calipers with two pistons each. The brake calipers are Girling.
I want to install this last conversion this week.

I bought the complete shaft ends, I disassemble the original ends and the newly acquired and I was assembling the pieces.
-Parts of the original shaft ends (stage one):
-Swivel pin bearing housing and halfsaft (CV joints)
-Swivel pin housing (requires iron out the side a little so as not to rub the brake calipers)
-Parts of the tips of the axes of the Santana 2500:
-Stub axle and bearings.
-Hub assembly
-Support for the brake calipers
-Brake discs (new) and protectors
(and all other parts)
-Parts of the original shaft ends (stage one):

The parts are compatible, as Santana used the same original Land Rover parts and modifications added to them.
New brake discs costing roughly € 70 (you have to search well)
The repair kit brake calipers costs 15 € each.
The 2500 model used parts are highly coveted in Spain, but can be found in the scrapyards. The price can vary a lot, between 200 € and 300 €. (besides the parts are very heavy).

I have already installed Santana 2500 braking system using only the original axle shafts (CV joint) and swivel pin housing of stage one (the rest is from the 2500 model).
The brake system works properly.
