Canvas hood

Post by ProofNZ »

Hi guys - just planning the summer project of (among other things) - converting the Stage 1 to a canvas top.

I would assume you guys are familiar with http://allwheeltrim.co.uk/ who do a kit.

The question I have is - does anyone know of a system that also incorporates a decent roll cage, and ideally fixing points for a harness?

I am a little worried about having no roof, and rolling it off-road...

Just trying to get ideas at the mo... thanks.

Yes, that is a valid concern. The tilt sticks are not good enough in a roll over situation to save people.

You would need to get something custom. The existing roll bar for the military series requires some modification of the tub and cap rail, however it also has factory spec retractable seatbelt mounts. It is not a roll cage, but offer some protection.

You can also extend the existing roll bar to make it a four point roll cage.

The roll cage/bar needs to sit inside the tilt otherwise you will have some odd looking bumps. There are a wide range of options available, or speak to the guys at, for example, VCM http://www.vcml.co.nz/. Ask for Blue, he's a good guy and with the wide range of work they do, he can at least advise you on what you might need.
